Sue Simoens

Sue is an artist and art educator who feels truly blessed and joyful to have the opportunity to do what she loves. After recently retiring, Sue continues to share her passion for art by teaching 3-year-olds through 8th graders at Sacred Heart Catholic School in Shawano

Sue works in a variety of mediums, with a special love for pottery, photography, painting, wood cuts and pastels.

Sue’s artwork is deeply influenced by her upbringing on a farm, her love of nature, and the beauty she finds in the world around her. She is inspired by artists such as Vincent Van Gogh, Claude Monet, Mary Cassatt, Wassily Kandinsky and her students, whose use of color, movement, and expressive style continue to influence her creative process..

Sue enjoys the process of creating new art. The learning, experimenting and trying new things is exhilarating yet peaceful.. One of her greatest joys as an artist is finding out someone loves and enjoys using a piece she created.
